Distillery: The Brooklyn Distilling Company
Distilled using locally purchased fruit and a base spirit made from 100% American corn that is sourced from small farms. 100% fresh citrus peels and hand-cracked juniper. By hand-cutting the citrus fruit, and releasing the essential oils in the juniper berries, they make a more vibrant gin than the distillers who use frozen or dried citrus peels.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Thick with juniper, lemons and slightly aromatic.
Palate: More juniper and deep citrus notes, oranges give a little sweetness against the tangy limes and lemons. There is also a floral aroma.
Finish: A long clean sublime finish.
Distillery Information
The Brooklyn Distilling Company was established in 1895 for the purpose of manufacturing Spirits from molasses and the waste products of the sugar industry, but was closed in the early 1900s and disappeared from the public eye. However, the company has recently been revived and is now producing Brooklyn Gin — their first product in over 100 years.
