Description
Dow’s 20 Year Old Tawny Port
The grapes are harvested by hand in the fall and fermented for a short period of time before the addition of 100% neutral grape sprit alcohol. This step stops fermentation, preserves the wine’s natural grape sugars, and gives it unique rich flavors. Aged Tawnies spend many years aging in oak casks – “20 Year” indicates an average age where older lots lend complexity and depth, and younger wines offer vibrant fresh fruit flavors. The extra aging lends an intense finish – 20 Year is considered by many to be the perfect blend of complexity and fruit.
Light amber and tawny color, showing mature raisiny fruit aromas with hints of honey and caramel. A rich and nutty palate, with wonderful balance. A clean crisp finish and a soft lingering aftertaste make this an unforgettable Port on any occasion.
